This is a tentative schedule for Summer 2014. The first four days of Week 1 will be intensive screenings, discussions, guest lectures (we welcome back cinematographer Erin Harvey, whose credits include National Geographic and Spinning Plates) individual feedback sessions (Noemie will ask each participant to send her a former work prior to the workshop), location scouting, and special sessions led by the Workshop Fellows. After detailed discussion, idea-pitching, brainstorming, and individual counseling with Noemie, each participant will direct a short film during the second week. A final screening on August 16th will premiere the new works.
Storyboarding was an essential step in planning each film. Special Guest Erin Harvey, cinematographer for National Geographic, gave us an inside scoop on his process and approach to storyboarding.
Noemie led us through some of her movement generation techniques. It was great to see the dancers and filmmakers experimenting with movement together.
