Noémie Lafrance - Guest Speaker/Workshop Mentor 2013, 2014



Noemie Lafrance is an award-winning Choreographer and Director living and working in Brooklyn. She is the artistic director and founder of Sens Production, a not-for-profit arts organization that produces her site-specific choreography and films. Noémie’s original performance works includes Descent (2001-03), Noir (2004), Agora/Agora II (2005-06), Rapture (2008), and Melt (2002-10). Her experimental dance films include; Descent (2003), Rapture Film, (2008) Eyes nose mouth (2007) and Melt (2010) and Choreography for Audiences – Take One (2012) that were screened and won awards at major film festivals. Ms Lafrance is a Lambent Fellow and a recipient of 2 Bessie Awards for Descent and a MVPA award (Music Video Production Award) for choreography of the Feist Music Video, “1,2,3,4”. The video also received multiple prizes internationally and was nominated for a Grammy Award. Noemie Lafrance collaborated with video artist Doug Aitken’s “Sleepwalking” at MOMA, David Byrne’s world tour and has made choreography for film and Television including Feist music video “1234”, Justin Timberlake « Mirrors », Snow Patrol, and Mika, as well as commercials for Daffy’s, Coca-Cola, Blooomingdale’s, Clarks, Special K, Ipod etc.  She is currently working on a Bollywood film.
